ACCIONA's Diversity and Inclusion Policy applies to all Australian and New Zealand subsidiaries.

ACCIONA appreciates the importance of understanding and improving Equity, Diversity, and inclusion. We are committed to a culture that welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and values their unique perspectives, experiences, and talents.

ACCIONA will actively manage Equity, Diversity, and inclusion, seeking ways to foster an environment where all employees feel welcome, respected, and valued.

This means that we will:

  • actively and flexibly seek to understand the unique needs of all employees.
  • commit to ensuring that all employees are treated with respect, dignity, and consistency.
  • seek to ensure that our business practices, policies, and procedures are fair and equitable.

Diversity Equity & Inclusion Focus Areas

Gender Equality

In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG-5: Gender Equality, our EDI strategy aims to create a transformative legacy by making ACCIONA a welcoming and inclusive workplace for all. We actively pursue diversity by removing traditional barriers to employment, particularly for women and other underrepresented groups. This includes initiatives such as ACCIONA’s Gender Equity Development Programs, the ACCIONA Network, and STEMM showcases, all of which help elevate women's voices and influence, empowering them to advance in their careers. These efforts have already led to an increase in female representation, with women now making up 24.44% of ACCIONA’s workforce in Australia and New Zealand as of March 2024. Additionally, 17.24% (March 2024). Moreover, ACCIONA is a proud signatory of the UN Global Compact’s Women’s Empowerment Principles.

First Nations

ACCIONA is committed to fostering workplace diversity and inclusion to ensure everyone feels respected, connected, and able to progress and contribute to work. Our commitment to reconciliation embraces this vision as we seek to actively foster meaningful relationships, respect Indigenous cultures, and create opportunities for Indigenous people to thrive within our organisation and the broader community. In July 2024, the business released its first-ever First Nations Strategy. This strategy has been designed to create a culturally safe environment to attract and retain more First Nations talent. A First Nations Leadership Group is active, with a representative from each state.

Inclusive Workplace

Our Flexibility Policy, work-life initiatives such as employee and family surf days at various beaches around Australia, our Gender-Neutral Parental Leave policy, and industry-first Vacation Care Program have transformed the workplace into an environment where employees thrive both personally and professionally. ACCIONA launched the Vacation Care Program in January 2023, and we now offer this benefit in most of the states we operate in, with a goal to eventually have these run at each project we operate.

    Flexible Working Model

At ACCIONA we promote flexibility in all its forms.  All employees can make an agreement with their manager for a flexible work arrangement. At ACCIONA, we offer two types of flexible work arrangements, Core Flexibility and Elective Flexibility. Core Flexibility is a simplified process for the approval of remote work aimed at helping ensure that remote work is ‘normalised’ and made as accessible as possible through a simplified agreement-making process. Elective Flexibility is a more formal type of flexible work arrangement that may affect the employee’s employment conditions.

We also strongly support job-sharing and encourage any applicants seeking a job-sharing arrangement to share this with us.
